Bad Moon Rising had started out as a CCR cover project but in December 1994 the band gathered at Kari's ( B ) summer cottage in Humppila, Finland, to work on original BMR material.

All you BMR fans out there should check out the vastly underrated album Doug did with Hurricane. It is called 'Slave To The Thrill', and was released in 1990 on Enigma records (in North America, anyways...). The album kicks, especially 'Dance Little Sister', and 'Let It Slide'. Any fan of Doug will love this album (if you can find it, that is!!).

hi, i'm posting this message here just in case for any member of the band visiting this site. i was lucky enough to find out your music over 10 years ago. i'm telling ya, it was one of the best and most influential things happened to my life. it was just another one song from radio, but eventually, it made me realize that i didn't wanna live my life to compromise. and, look at me now, i'm living in usa and forcing my career in music business --- a GOOD part of music business, if ya know what i'm saying.
well, enough said about me. i just want you to know that you have been loved, and you are still being loved. it is amazing that so many people visiting this site putting their faith on you. it may be the proof of that what you are doing is right. it might be underestimated but it is right. it must be frustrating for you to see the things not moving on around ya, but it is a beautiful thing to move so many heart with what you have created.
so stay hard, be well, and please keep on creating.

3 years ago, BMR was in JAPAN for Live tour. I sometimes remember about the shows. Those were very excited!! I hope to see their show as soon as possible.

Accessing the MASA Ito's web site yesterday, I could see a group shot of Lion. Of course, Mr. Mark Edwards appeared in it. Kal & Doug were so young.
It reminds me of the fatal attraction with them. It was a shot of a group from L.A. in BURRN! The group was named Lion. What cool guys they were! They had good looks. At once I became a fan of them before listening to their sounds. Especially, Mr. Mark Edwards became my hero.
With their sounds, they captivated me tighly. If Kal & Doug did not join with Mark, I might not know B.M.R. and this HP.
Mark is still placing the top of drummers for me. I wish his good fortune. I'm glad that who is interested in drums pays attention to�@drumming in his works.

Reading sentences in this corner, I wanted to listen to the B.M.R. sounds. And I've finished listening to their 1st album. Listening to Darkside of Babylon and Sunset After Midnight, I was moved to tears. I don't know why.
Now, what I say is just that I'm dying to listen to Kal's songs. Sing, Kal! When do you come out from inside CDs? It's time to go off. Drive me nuts, Kal!

Exchanging old guitar strings for new ones, I think I'd like to reuse the old ones as another things. However, I've not hit on the idea how to reuse yet. Do you have any good idea?

I'm expecting new projects each member will be doing. I hope to listen to them as soon as possible.

About the Live at the O-DO in Niigata (Jul. 7, 1995)
The day before, I told to Doug that the hall BMR would play at the next day was a temple, and he said that he had to do something special. The audience was crazy, wasn't they? I enjoyed the show very much!! On encore, Hawke came back to the stage and he was circling. On the Doug side was jammed, but on the Ian side (I'd been there) had a little space left. So I could see the stage clearly :-)

This is the first time I send Inside Of You here (I know this site from way back). A couple of days ago, I found some cassette tapes recorded BMR songs I played in a band. It reminded me those days. The band played the all songs of OPIUM FOR THE MASSES and LION's. I liked to play BELIEVE the best! I sung and played the bass, thus it was too hard. Those are good memories. Now I'm in a band play HAREM SCAREM.

I've been a fan of them since LION. So I listened to this album with expectation. The sounds were great and my favorite. HANDS ON HEAVEN, FULL MOON FEVER, BUILT FOR SPEED....these are exciting, and SUNSET AFTER MIDNIGHT is, too. This album is awesome!!! (Also added on Reviews from Fans)

About the Live at the DRUM TOPS in Ohita (Jun. 30, 1995)
I wanted to hear Kal's voice directly, So I was standing in the front row all through the show. I was really looking forward to it because Kal was my ideal vocalist and they did a concert in my home town! I made a flag for it with one of my friends. The show was awesome! better than the Fukuoka's (the next day). It was the best memory in the year. PS Kal bent his mic stand.

I don't care what the person said. It's just HIS opinion. I believe the words what Kal said that he hoped his band to be one as Kids're dying to see their live show after listening to their album. I think Kal keeps on writing songs made their debut. I deplored LION'S break-up, and I was jubilant when BMR was formed. So I can wait, I will support them.

I found Kal's autograph ( as a member of Tytan) in a mag issued in 1982, but there was no interviews or pix. It was autographed at a Meet & Greet party held in London when he was a 19-year-old boy! Long - LONG time ago.......

I found "OPIUM FOR THE MASSES" and I think it's good! However, I prefer the first album, it's really the best!!! I like "OLD FLAMES" and "WITHOUT YOUR LOVE", I listen them over and over again.

I listened to BMR album in a long while. I truely realized that Kal's voice was powerful and Doug played the guitar with respect. Kal is an Excellent singer. Of course, the all members of BMR are Excellent. They must be active more than ever. By the way, Kal has short hair now? Do you know how it is? .....and Do you know when they are coming to Japan?

I like their three video clips. I like FREE the best, because it makes me comfortable. Each their album is good. The latest one - after the 4 members get togather - , they play their music with calmness and pleasure. I easily lose interest in import music, but BMR always interests me. I've listened to their songs many times. I think they would be more mellow and more refind year by year. So I hope them to make good use of NOW. I wanna listen to their next album soon. Many fans are waiting for it!

I watched Motley Crue's live show on TV. They haven't change except for Vince's appearance. I don't know their new songs much. I liked Live Wire. It made me excited that people who were active in the same time Kal and Doug were came back to the music scene. I hope BMR will come back to the scene. How do their fans feel now?

I have two BMR albums - BAD MOON RISING and BLOOD. Each album have individuality. These are quite different, but I feel BMR alot from these albums. I've been looking for OPIUM FOR THE MASSES and Doug Aldrich's solo albums (Used one).
