Hi, I love Bad Moon Rising's music and I'm very happy to have found this fabulous web site. Many compliments for these pages!!!.
Here in Italy is very difficult to find CD and other material about B.M.R.. I'd like to listen "Opium for the Masses" (I don't have it) and I'd like to see B.M.R. playing here in Rome too.
This mail from Italy!! How did you know about BMR? "Opium for the Masses" is a little bit different (or changed) from their 1st and 2nd album, but it's a Great one. Yes, I hope them to play in Rome.

I remember that I bought a text to write letters to BMR, but I didn't because I was shy. At that time, I didn't know if there the Fan Club was, and therefore I'd no idea to admit the Fan Club. Is there anyone to admit the Fan Club now?
Recently, replaced the Fan Club staff. New staff would do something new. So if you're interested in the Fan Club, See
here.
BMR P.O.Box is closed now. But you can send letters to Doug Aldrich. Here's the adress....

What is Mill Wall Brick? I found it from your website. Do you know anything about the CNR Music France? I'd like to sent BMR Fan Club News paper to France.
I'm sorry but I don't know anything about the CNR Music France. If somebody know about the CNR Music France, please mail to me. I heard that there's BMR crepe in France...
About Mill Wall Brick, it's included in the Bonus CD of OPIUM FOR THE ASSES French issued. I heard it from Mr. Bob Decker, Jr. who is the metal director of an American college radio station (WRKC-King's College). He said it's an angry, ass-kickin' rocker.

Questions for/about B.M.R.: When will BMR start working on a new album?
Or the Kal Swan solo album?
About the Wyatt Management: I think that they pay no attention to BMR on their homepage. So maybe BMR decided to look for another manager? By the way are there BMR or Lion bootleg CD's available in Japan?
BMR New album.....I have no idea. Well, I heard that "they will do a new record if they can all get together, and they hope in the future that Doug and Kal, Ian, and Jackie could work together". The Kal Swan solo album, he has already had 4 songs demo, but I don't know when it will come out.
I heard something about the Wyatt Management. It's not good one. I don't know whether it's true or not.
About 5 years ago, I found LION bootleg LP (6-7000 yen). But I didn't buy it at that time. After that I couldn't find. I'm afraid that there are no BMR one.

Updated The Results of BMR Album's Questionnaire. Re-Add up the all Questionnaire, today. It took much time.
Add Comments in The Result of the Questionnaire Page (Doug Aldrich Solo).
Last three days, I was in no mood to make this site. I was oppressed by thought of something. Today, I got News Paper from BMR Fan Club and some Emails, and had a phone call from a friend of mine. These made me FINE. I realized lots of people supported me and I had to do my best for them...
I got Doug Aldrich's Guitar instructional Video last Friday!

Doug plans on coming to tour in JAPAN in Oct, and P/CANYON do too. I hope it will be true. I heard from P/CANYON that Kal's solo songs is far from ROCK.

I prefer LION than BMR. The first impression of BMR was a band was formed by KAL SWAN ex-TYTAN and MARK EDWARDS ex-STEELER. After I saw their Video clip POWERLOVE, I was into LION sound mixed LA metal and British Rock. I used to follow JERRY BEST's bass style (Now I still do). Although there's MARK's unfortunately accident, it's good KAL and DOUG are active.
Mixed LA metal and British Rock.....It was one of their good parts. I believe it IS. I feel they keep it down last several years. I hope they don't. I like both sound - LION and BMR. I don't know which is better. I just know next BMR album will be better than these.

I've listened to their each album many times. The first time I listen to, the albums were not my favourite. But I became to like more and more everytime I listen to. The album I've listened the most times is BAD MOON RISING, but The album I like the best is OPIUM FOR THE MASSES. I like the 4 members - Doug, Kal, Ian, and Jackie the best. Their first Video clip BLOOD ON THE STREET, this song is my favourite. It was so COOL they played it in Live show. The Video clip FREE, I like the last scean the silhouette of them. I saw the clip many times. BELLIGERENT STANCE, the first time I saw the video, I felt something strange....But it's so COOL the scean they walked down the street!
Thank you for filling out the each Questionnaire. Each time I listen to their songs, it show me various side of BMR. So I became to like the songs more and more, as you did. I heard The part they walked down the street of BELLIGERENT STANCE was shot around the plaza in Las Vegas.

I wonder when I listen to BMR's album last time......It's been a long time. It doesn"t mean I became to dislike BMR. I just prefer the other sound than BMR, now. I still feel great for listening to their songs.
Do they plan to release their Live Video?
Thank you for answearing the each Questionnaire. I see the reason why you don't listen to BMR songs so much time. You change your favourite. Well, in a moment, keep it away from your ears, and listen to BMR one more time. And then, You can find the other side of BMR.
I don't know about the Video. I hope they release.

I'd like BMR to make some cool Video Clips which I could say "it's my SweetHeart". and I wanna see their Live Video!
Thanks for filling out the each Questionnaire. I wanna see their Live Video, too. I heard that they videotaped some shows on BAD MOON RISING tour in Japan in 199, but it didn't come out.
I hope to see their Video clips many times on MTV or sort of Music programs. Let's get maked a request!

BMR's Video "FREE" makes me happy and feeling good. The first time I saw the video, I was surprised at Kal singing in a flower field (It reminds me IRON MAIDEN's video "Holy Smoke"). I like the video "FREE" very much. It express a personality of BMR - Good and Gently.
It has been 2 years since Belligerent tour in Japan. I'm a member of BMR fan club. Though they and your homepage tell me about BMR news and I got to know what they do, I'd like to see their concert, honestry.
This "Full Moon Fever" section is Great! I can see you make this site very hard. It is wonderful you got many emails from various countries. Please keep on making this site and entertaining us. I will do what I can to help you.
Thank you for sending the each Questionnaire. I like the video "FREE" very much. As you did, I remembered "Holy Smoke" when I heard that
Kal was singing in a flower field in the video. Before I saw it, I couldn't imagin how it was and I couldn't imagin any cool situation. I first saw the video at the Club Citta' before BMR show, and I run to my friends for saying the words "It's so COOL!" as soon as it finished.
It has been 2 years.......Yes, I make this very hard. I hope lots of people to see here and hope them to know BMR even more.

I should not say these words, But.....
I liked LION. After the unfortunate the band's breakup, Fans like me and magazines keep on expecting that Kal and Doug play the sound as LION. I know they're tired of these expecting, and I know I have to draw the line between BMR and LION. But the LION sound was made from the bottom of their heart, and showed their spirit, I think. They played what they want to do, therefore LION has lots of Fans.
I hope Kal and Doug write songs what they really want to play in BMR. My honest feeling after BLOOD coming is that they push some sounds coming from their heart into somewhere just becuse of shaking off their past - LION. I wish it's not true.
I really hope that they will be successful all over the world, and hope them to write songs what they want and are satisfied with.
I'm glad to find your page and to know taht there are many big BMR fans. Keep on supporting !
Thank you for filling out the Questionnaire of albums.
Yeah, I know that there're still many LION Fans and they're expecting that Kal and Doug keep on playing music kind of LION. Well, it's natural. LION songs are great. In my opinion, it's O.K. that Fans keep on expecting them to play music AS LION. But NOT good to expect LION. BMR is BMR. Kal and Doug are writing songs from the bottom of their heart, I think, and OPIUM FOR THE MASSES shows their spirit.
Well, I sometimes feel as you what they push their good part into someplace just because of the reason what you said. I hope they don't. BMR members have great talent and taste. So that I hope them to succeed. Until then, Support them together!!

Hello. I live in USA. A couple of days ago, I was dying to listen to BMR's 1st album "Bad Moon Rising" and I went to Tower Records. But I coudn't find it, besides, I couldn't get their 2nd one "Blood". I strongly want to listen to "Bad Moon Rising". It was a great one. It gave me/all listeners something special, something impressive. I don't feel it in the recent silly noisy music flow over here. I wish I get BMR albums here.
I happened to see your homepage. I'm very happy BMR is alive. I thougt they broke up. I've never heard their 2nd and 3rd album. Are those different from 1st one? Although I have been no listening to the 1st since couples of years ago, I remember the song "Full Moon Fever" very well. Keep in touch.
It's hard to find out their album in USA. I looked for it when I went to LA last JAN., and I coudn"t find any, even the US version of "Opium For The Masses" and Doug's solo album "Highcentered".
Yeah, I agree with you. BMR's 1st album gave me something impressive. Also the 2nd and 3rd gave me it, too.

There is no new news about BMR....It's unhappy. They had released album in '91, '93, and '95. So they would do in '97, I expected. Will they release their new album this year ? What do you think ?

I liked Kal and Doug when they were LION. I recently listened to BMR albums. First time I listened the alubums, I didn't know whether it"s good or not, specially OPIUM FOR THE MASSES. But I gradually came to like them, every time I Listen to them. And now, OPIUM is one of my favourite.
I've never seen their videos
There are lots who like Kal and Doug as LION. How about now as BMR? I like both.
Every time I listened to their albums, I found something new. It might be one of their attractive parts.
FREE is a excellent video, I think.

Funny you mention Alice In Chains. Yeah, I can see Kal trying to sound a
little bit like them. However, where A.I.C. is "trippy HM", BMR is
"psychedelic HM". A slight difference, but very, very close.
I don't know the difference between "trippy HM" and "psychedelic HM".
Very close? I like Union and Underground, but if all songs are a kind of these songs, maybe boring.

Last weekend I picked up "Crossfire:Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn" which features John Sykes and Doug Aldrich. Pretty cool. Doug does the song "The House Is Rockin'"
On July 1994, I went to their live show at the Dream Street (San Diego, CA. USA). I got to meet the band before and after the show and I talked with them about their influences. Kal and Doug kept mentioning Thin Lizzy. Do you like Thin Lizzy? I thought
they were one of the best HR bands ever.
It's great that Kal and Doug kept mentioning Thin Lizzy. T.LIZZY is one of my favourite bands.

What made me crazy about B.M.R.
Their First Album BAD MOON RISING and Their First
Live in JAPAN held my heart.
At that time, I began to listen to HR/HM and to be interested in it.
I listened to all songs what my company recomended and got good reviews on magazines. Among them,There was the band named
LION (
Kal and
Doug formed before
B.M.R.). To tell the truth, I'd already got their album a year ago, but I was not interested in it at that time. I had no interest in HR/HM at all then.
One day, I was going to listen to something and looking for one, their album caught my eyes, and I listened to it. To my surprise, the album was my favourit! As soon as I'd finished listening, I ran to reserve the album
BAD MOON RISING. After that, I got and listened to the album, To my surprise, again, The album was also my favourit and so Great.

Cool Points of B.M.R.
Their Music is so cool, of course. kal's Voice, Doug's Guitar, Ian's Bass, and Jackie's Drums, When the 4 stuff get togather,
The magic happens !
kal's Voice is Powerful and Emotional. It's so Great He sings a Hard song and also sings Ballad. If you listen to the song called Tears In The Dark (Recorded their 2nd Album BLOOD), you must be moved.
His singing voice on live is greater than a recording.
Doug's Guitar sounds are Powerful and his Guitar techniques are so cool !
Recentry, the sound and style have a little bit changed for changing his Guitar from Jackson to Fender.
Ian's Bass sounds are Tight and Heavy. It keeps B.M.R. sounds Groovy.
Jackie's Drums techniques are so cool and the sounds are tight. He has Great taste in Drums. And his backing vocals have an important in B.M.R. Live.
